Using TeamCounter on smartphone, tablet and desktop

Distinguish online lists, local browser lists and the native app

Changing browsers does not automatically delete the original local data. A different browser or profile cannot see it. Installing the native Android app does not automatically import local browser lists.

Check two independent contexts before use

1. On device A create an online test list with Team A and Team B at 0. Keep the management link private.
2. Open its view link on device B or in a separate browser profile. A second tab of the same profile is not an independent storage test.
3. Count +1 once on A. After refresh, expect 1 on B and check that editing actions are absent.
4. Reload A and compare the same value. After a connection error, load and compare before repeating a click.
5. Check a local test list separately: it remains available in the original browser but is not a shared list in the second profile. Do not delete real lists or browser data.

These steps are a test procedure, not a promise of second-by-second synchronisation. Browser printing, screen sharing and the large display do not grant management rights.

Which device suits which task?

On a smartphone you can count entries directly on site and check short lists quickly. A tablet offers more room for several rows or a well readable display. On a desktop, longer labels, preparing a list and processing a CSV file are usually more comfortable.

All devices open the same web-based list. No separate installation and no user account is required. What matters is that the correct view, display or management link is used.

Starting across devices in six steps

1. Open the matching tool on a device you trust, for example the online tally counter or the score counter.
2. Create the list and its entries with neutral test data.
3. Store the management link safely.
4. Test the view link on a second device in a private browser window.
5. Open the display link on a tablet, monitor or projector if needed.
6. Only then distribute the matching links through a private channel.

For people who should only read along, the view link is enough. The management link belongs only on devices and with people that are allowed to change values.

Example: training with a smartphone and a hall screen

A coach updates the score on a smartphone. A tablet or hall monitor runs the reduced display. Everyone else receives only the view link. Operation and shared presentation stay separate.

The screen has to stay online so that updates arrive. Short network interruptions or cache states can delay an update, so reload the current state before making a decision.

Presentation, browsers and accessibility

Use an up-to-date browser, enable the zoom function of the device if needed, and rotate the display when that makes rows easier to read. Avoid unnecessarily long list titles and never distinguish entries by colour alone. On a public or shared device the management link should not remain in the history or as a freely accessible bookmark.

The native Android app is a separate channel. This website guide describes browser use and changes neither app data nor existing lists.

Limits and further help

TeamCounter offers no offline synchronisation and no automatic conflict resolution for devices that were separated for a longer time.
