About TeamCounter
TeamCounter is a lightweight online tool for shared counting tasks: tally counters, score counters, attendance lists, drink lists and value counters. The web version is designed for a quick start in your browser without registration, and there is also a native Android app. This page explains who runs TeamCounter, what it is meant for and how it is funded.

Why does TeamCounter exist?
TeamCounter is meant to keep simple shared counting tasks clear without a group having to adopt management software.
Problem
Paper lists, chat messages or copied spreadsheets work for a while. Once several people update the same numbers, they can quickly become hard to follow.
Approach
TeamCounter keeps the workflow deliberately small: one list, clear controls and readable links.

How do the web version and the Android app differ?
The web version runs in a browser without installation. The Android app is a native app for phones and tablets; online lists with links from the German or English version of the website can be opened in both.
Web version
For phones, tablets and computers – no installation and no registration. Every tool can be used as an online list or as a local list.
- Online list: stored on the server and shared through the view link (read only) or the management link (edit).
- Display view: shows an online list on a monitor or projector; a local score also opens it in a second window of the same browser.
- Local list: stays in this browser only and cannot be shared or restored.
- Export: CSV in all counting modes; PDF through your browser’s print function.
Android app
A native app for Android phones and tablets, not a website wrapped in an app. The app text is maintained in German and English; Google Play also provides automatic translations into 24 other languages.
- The same list types as in the browser (except the tournament mode and assigning people), without a TeamCounter account.
- App languages: German and English; automatic translations into Bulgarian, Chinese (Simplified), Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish and Ukrainian.
- Online lists open in the web version and the app through their view or management link; the app recognises list links from the German and English versions of the website.
- Local browser lists and local app data are separate, and there is no automatic transfer between them.
- Optional and paid: Premium with extended statistics and reports as CSV or PDF.

TeamCounter is a project associated with HolsteinShops.de. Maximilian Holstein develops and operates it independently.
He is responsible for the website’s content, and the guides are published under his name. Questions about lists, privacy or errors reach him directly by email.

How is TeamCounter developed?
New features start from a concrete use case. Website changes are tested automatically before release and checked again on the public website afterwards.
Use case
The starting point is a concrete need, such as a counting task for which a feature is missing or should be improved.
Implementation
The feature is built for the web version, the Android app or both.
Automated checks
Before website changes go live, automated tests check layout, language versions, links and structured data, among other things.
Release and follow-up check
After deployment, the public website is checked again.
How are feature descriptions and guides written?
Descriptions and guides are meant to show what the tools actually do – and where their limits are.
- Feature descriptions are meant to match the actual state of the tools.
- Step-by-step walkthroughs are replayed with neutral test data.
- Limits are stated, including what a tool cannot do.
- Where external factual information is needed, the source is linked.
- Guides name the author and show a publication or update date; the TeamCounter facts list carries an as-of date.
- You can report errors or outdated information through the contact page.
What happens to lists and data?
Online lists are stored on the server and can be opened by anyone who has the link. Please do not enter confidential, health-related, political or other sensitive data.
- Online lists are stored in the website’s database (hosted by STRATO) and are not deleted automatically. You can delete a list with its management link or request deletion by email.
- The view link allows reading, the management link allows changes. Share management links only with people who are allowed to edit the list, and treat them like a password.
- Individual lists are marked noindex so that search engines do not include them. This is not access protection.
- Local lists stay in the browser where they were created. If the browser data is lost, there is no copy on the server.
- If Mediavine / Journey is loaded on a list page, Mediavine may receive the page address, including the list link.
How is TeamCounter funded?
The web version is free to use. Funding comes from advertising, voluntary tips, optional purchases in the Android app and commissions from labelled affiliate links in the website footer and on the German-language benefits page.
Website: Mediavine / Journey may show ads, including on list pages. You can manage your consent through “Cookie and privacy settings” in the footer.
Print and export files contain no ads.
Voluntary tips: in the website footer, the “Support now” button opens a Stripe payment page. You choose the amount, and using TeamCounter remains free.
Android app: free to install, with ads and optional in-app purchases. Prices and terms are stated in the app and on Google Play.

If you spot an error or outdated information, have a question or want a list deleted, send an email. For deletion requests, the list ID or view link helps; please send a management link only if asked. You can also use the form on the contact page.
