Sharing view links and management links safely
TeamCounter works without a user account. The generated links therefore decide what a person may see or change. Anyone who tells the three link types apart reduces accidental changes and unnecessary data sharing.

Check access before sharing
| Access | Read | Change values | Share with |
|---|---|---|---|
| View link | yes | no | readers |
| Large display | yes, reduced | no | shared screen |
| Management link | yes | yes | responsible editors |
- Use a neutral test list you created and set a counter to 0 in the first browser context.
- Open the view link in a second independent browser profile. It must not expose usable plus/minus or management controls.
- Count +1 once in the first context and wait for the second to refresh; if unsure, reload rather than count again.
- Use the large display for a screen. Before sharing, check that no management link appears in the address bar or message.
Local browser lists have no cross-device view or management links. Someone who receives an online link can pass it on; the website cannot retrieve copies.
The three link types
- View link: shows the current state read-only.
- Management link: allows changes and, depending on the tool, new entries, exports, resets or deletion.
- Display link: shows a reduced, read-only view for a monitor, tablet or projector.
The management link is the most important access and should be treated like a private key.
Sharing the right link in five steps
- Determine the audience and the permission it actually needs.
- Choose the view, display or management link accordingly.
- Check the link in a private browser window before sending it.
- Send the link only through a private channel that suits the group.
- If a link was shared by mistake, remove the message and, if a risk remains, delete the list and create a new one.
Training example: two coaches receive the management link because both record attendance. The team only receives the view link; a screen in the hall runs the display link.
Storing the management link safely
Save it in a protected bookmark or in the “My lists” area on a device you trust. That local overview is not a user account and provides no central recovery.
For a deletion request you can send the tool type, the list ID or the view link to the contact page; only send a management link when you have been explicitly asked to.
If the management link was shared by mistake
Remove the public post or message where possible. If unauthorised changes remain likely, delete the affected list through management access and create a new one if needed. TeamCounter currently has no individual user roles and no separately revocable access.
Noindex is not password protection
Private lists are set to noindex for search engines. That does not prevent access by anyone who knows the link. Links should therefore never be published publicly, and list content should stay minimal.
